To My Apartment Team- You are Simply the Best

To my wonderful apartment team, let me tell you why you are simply the best.

You are simply the best because you show each day how much you care for the residents and how happy you are to be part of the team.

You are simply the best because you go that extra mile for Mrs. Jones who takes a half hour to pay her rent while she tells you about how big her grandchildren are getting.

You are simply the best because you work truly as a team and not as lone wolves.88328154 300x230 To My Apartment Team You are Simply the Best

You are simply the best because you triple check an apartment and all of its components prior to a move in.

You are simply the best because you just get the Fair Housing law.

You are simply the best because you show up for work on time.

You are simply the best because you don’t quote resident retention lines by rote but you live the words you speak.

You are simply the best because you answer the phone.

You are simply the best because you run spell check before you send an email to a prospect.

You are simply the best because you live the multifamily industry you are not just part of it.

Can you add to this list?  Take a step back and think of the last time you said to a team member “You’re the best!”  Part of profound leadership is the ability to commend and inspire your team.  Let me know ways you have shown your team that they are the best!

…Because I can go to lunch and when I come back, you’re not fighting and sniping about petty garbage with each other, no matter how stressful the day has been.

…Because, for that matter, I CAN GO TO LUNCH.

…Because you take care of yourselves with the same pride that you take care of our community with. You keep yourselves happy, well, and relaxed.

…Because when one of our team is having a rough time, our whole team cares and steps up to the the plate.

…Because we feel like family, with all the ups and downs and fun and dysfunction that comes with that.

…Because you feel secure enough in your jobs to tell me when, as a manager, I’m totally out of line or have my head in the clouds. Everyone needs someone to tell them when their fly is open.

…Because you know how to laugh at and learn from mistakes we make.

…Because you notice and appreciate it when I say the words “we” “us” “team” and “together”

You had me at answering the phone.

…Because you are passionate about what you do.

That is one robust comment Heather! Those are some great additions. Thanks for chiming in. Commendation and appreciation should be the fruit of the day each day.

I thought you would like the phone point :) Great add on. Being passionate should be encouraged!
